Simple Spring Tablescape

This is what I call “the calm before the storm”. We had a simple yet very pretty table for Easter this year. With just a few punches, some cardstock and chocolate I was able to add the perfect touch to our table.

I love these versatile dishes I bought from Target years ago. They have been perfect for my studio as well as outdoor picnics and as shown here… for our Easter celebration this year. But how better to dress them up for a special celebration than with handmade paper flower napkin ring holders! And the bonus is that they were soooo simple to make…

I used three different flower punches to make the flowers… the Blossom Punch for the large flower, the Pansy Punch for the small flower, and the Fun Flower Punch for the leaves. I layered the flowers together with a Dimensionals. Then I used the 1/2 Circle Punch for the circle on top of the Rolo Candy and attached it to my flower with Glue Dots.

I used Dimensionals once again to attached my flowers to a 1/2″ by 6″ strip of cardstock that I formed into a ring so I could slide them onto a napkin. I just love how quick and easy these were to make and how they dress up a simple white paper napkin. I also added small sprigs of baby’s breath into the napkin for a little added touch of Spring. But seriously… these would be just as cute scattered on the table.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter with family and friends. I’ve been absent from my blog and life in general since getting so sick back in December. After months of getting worse and then numerous doctor appointments, tests, ER visits and then nine days spent in two different hospitals I am feeling soooo much better. I still have some unanswered health issues and concerns with more tests and followup doctor visits to come so would appreciate your thoughts and prayers. All that to say it was so wonderful to at least feel well enough to celebrate and spend this special day with those whom I love the most in life. I am amazed as I look at this pic and see how grown up my kids are. We are truly blessed and don’t take any minute of it for granted… even though they were like, “Mommm… not another pic… we just wanna eat!” lol
