Natalie’s First Solo Show

We are so very proud of this gal! At the end of 2017 Natalie was selected as one of the “Kid Artisans” for the Not Your Mama’s Big Holiday Market that took place in the Short North of Columbus.

With my help and the help of her sisters, Natalie spent hours prepping for the show… printing, cutting, matting and framing her beautiful art work. I thought I’d share a peek at some of her artwork and booth set up.

She had a lot of fun making buttons as well.

She had a wonderful day and enjoyed sharing her art with those who stopped by her booth. We are so thankful for everyone who came out to encourage and support her and her creative endeavors. Quick and Simple Spring Tablescape

We had a blessed Easter with family and friends celebrating our Risen Lord. It was such a treat to have ALL our kiddos home and even a few extra. The pic above of our table shows the calm before the storm. I think this is the first year I actually gave in and used paper and plastic plates. GASP!!! I know… I couldn’t believe it either. But as I was setting up the table Saturday night I didn’t want to spend my time on Easter hand washing all those china dishes. It’s okay to take a break some years and as our family continues to grow and move out our time with all of them here together is priceless. Continue reading →

Living With the Thorn of an Unseen Illness

More labs for my Natalie today. Since Spring her life has been doctor visits, labs, tests and again more doctor visits and tests. It’s so hard to watch your child who once had an abundant amount of energy and life become stricken with an overwhelming weariness that causes her to not be able to stand. Natalie was diagnosed with POTS – Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome which makes it difficult for her to stand up without passing out. For today’s post I won’t go into a lot of specifics but you can check out this POTS overview of what she deals with daily. Where did Summer go?

Wow! I’ve been neglecting my blog a bit this Summer. I truly feel like the kids just got off the bus on the last day of school… YESTERDAY!

It’s an annual tradition on our court for the parents to welcome our kids home by blasting them with water balloons and super soakers as they get off the bus. They may run but…
